Basic Color Processing & Retouching For Cosplay Photography

Video tutorials available now!

So, it’s no secret among my friends and family that I absolutely loved Mad Max: Fury Road. The visuals of that movie completely blew me away, and inspired me like nothing has in a long time. I only got to see the movie once so far, but I find myself pouring over the art book, reading the comics, and clicking through all the screencaps I find online.

And then there’s Fallout 4. Confession time – I haven’t played the Fallout series…yet. Actually, as soon as I get my cosplays together for the next convention in a couple weeks, I plan on streaming my playthoughs of all of the currently released Fallout games on my Twitch channel over the next few months, hopefully finishing in time for the release of Fallout 4. It’s one of the franchises I always wanted to play, but never got around to it…until now!

However, in a creative collaboration of sorts with my husband, who was my official Fallout adviser for this project, I painted this Fallout 4 poster, inspired by the design aesthetics of Mad Max: Fury Road.

I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out! Now that I’m finally spending more time painting (rather than working on photography), it’s been awesome to try new things!

If you like this painting, I have it available with text and without text in my Society 6 shop.

Mad Max: Fury Road Assassin

Mad Max: Fury Road was such a visual feast for my eyes that I had to do a painting for it. The best part is, the Hawaii cosplay community is planning a Mad Max-themed group shoot in the next couple of months, so doing this painting was also a chance to design my own character. With a bit of cross-fandom action, I decided my Mad Max character would be an Assassin from the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Those games always look back at past Assassins – what about one from the far future?
